About the Ducktrap Wildlife Preserve
The Ducktrap Wildlife Preserve is a non-profit corporation in the State of Maine founded in the early 1990’s by Hans and Brigitte Gautschi. Much of the land is located near or adjacent to the Ducktrap River, Kendall Brook, and Knights and Pitcher Ponds in the Towns of Lincolnville and Northport.
The Ducktrap Wildlife Preserve protects and enhances the wildlife habitat of the Ducktrap River Watershed through ownership of more than 700 acres of ecologically sensitive lands. The Board of Directors provides leadership for the work of the organization and collaborates with other conservation organizations in protecting sensitive wildlife lands within the watershed. Targeted wildlife educational programs are offered with the goal of inspiring the next generation of wildlife conservationists and naturalists.
